Hi, I’m Arjen, a composer and sound designer from the Netherlands.

I create original scores and immersive soundscapes for film, television, and media projects. My work blends atmospheric textures with expressive melodies, always tailored to the emotional core of each story.

In 2010 I graduated from the HKU (Utrecht School of the Arts) with a degree in Composition for Media. In the following years I taught myself sound design and gradually took on more projects in that field.

I later worked as an in‑house composer and sound designer at MediaMonks, where I gained extensive experience collaborating on large international campaigns within bigger creative teams. Beyond composing and sound design, I refined my skills in mixing and audio post‑production, handling everything from voice polishing to broadcast mixes across different countries.

Over the past years I’ve collaborated on a wide range of productions, from feature films to short‑form projects, including composing music for the feature filmVleesdag (released in cinemas and on Amazon Prime). Recently, I also completed two production music albums for BMG in a dark, cinematic, industrial tension style, layered with distorted electronic synths.

I’m passionate about exploring the boundaries between analog and digital, and often work with real world sounds, transforming them to unique sonic textures. By combining technical precision with creative freedom, I aim to craft audio experiences that feel both authentic and unexpected. Whether I’m shaping subtle sonic details or building expansive musical worlds, my goal is always the same: to bring narratives to life through sound.
